Study the relationship of media and popular culture—and its impact on society—this winter. During the online course Media and Popular Culture students will learn how to quickly identify with the subject matter and participate in lively discussions about the current social, cultural and political environment. The course will also introduce students to the shifting trends, ideas, and competing forces that lay the foundation for the cultural battleground of the future. Finally, during this course students will complete projects that will help reinforce their understanding of media and its role in popular culture.
The course is taught by Professor Wolfson, founder of the Media Mobilizing Project, an organization that strives to amplify the voices of communities fighting for justice, equity and human rights.
