Register for Courses

Choose from over 150 in-person, online, and hybrid course offerings in a wide range of subjects.

A full-time academic load in Winter Session is a single course. Individuals who want to take more than one course in Winter Session must secure approval from their academic advisor or dean and present it in writing to the registrar. School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) students may only seek approval if dates are non-overlapping, and the total number of academic credits for the two courses is three or fewer.

Rutgers Students

Current Rutgers Students may register using the Web Registration System. Please note, Winter Session is not recommended for Rutgers first-year students or students with less than a 2.0 GPA. Such individuals must secure approval from their academic advisor or dean and present it in writing to the registrar.

Visiting Students

Visiting Students may apply to take a winter course by filling out the Registration Inquiry Form. The form will be available beginning September 25, 2017. An RUID and Personal Access Code (PAC) will be generated within three business days of submission. The RUID and PAC are used to register for classes via the Web Registration System.

Please note: the Registration Inquiry Form will be unavailable after 4:00pm on 12/20/17. Visiting students must complete the necessary prerequisite work and are responsible for determining that they have done so before registering. Visiting students should also seek written confirmation from their academic advisors/deans that the course(s) they complete at Rutgers will be accepted by their home institution.
